Dr. Sathpathy completed his residency in Adult and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry at Brookdale University Medical Center in New York.
He completed his visiting fellowship at Columbia University in electroconvulsive therapy (ECT).
He has been in private practice for more than a decade, focusing on treating children and adolescents all the way through adulthood and geriatric ages. He was also clinical director of Mesa Vista Hospital adult as well as child/adolescent unit.
He is Double-Board Certified in Child/Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry.
Dr. Sathpathy incorporates all the resources in the community to provide his patients with the best possible treatment. He is Attending Psychiatrist at Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital. Dr. Sathpathy works with local Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs) for Adult population and Partial Hospital Program for Child/Adolescent population and coordinates with school systems, both in San Diego and Imperial County.
Dr. Sathpathy believes that Interventional Psychiatry has a prominent place in the field of mental health. He has seen patients who only achieved partial remission or who would like options beyond medication and talk therapy. He offers Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and performs Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT), in addition to Medication Management.
